I did start this cooking spree on a challenge, on a whim – to push myself or to test or to occupy my time, whatever it was. I did slack on it.

So does this mean that I lost in my challenge, whatever it was that I was out to prove to myself, have I failed? Yes on technicality and no, because I can give hundreds of justification otherwise. But here I am, it’s going to be almost a year. I did fall back on keeping up with the everyday cooking challenge. But I realized along the way, that I had managed to take the fun and passion out from the whole process, and I also realized how badly it showed when I didn’t do it out of passion. So I stepped back and promised to get cooking only when I am inspired.
So here I am again, with a beautiful breakfast which made my day today.

Utensil/ Appliance

Oven preheated @ 200 degree, a small frying pan

Ingredients

  • Apples: 1 peeled and cored and sliced
  • Cinnamon powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Butter: 1 tbsp (can use unsalted butter as well)
  • Bread: 1 slice toasted
  • Honey to serve

Method

Heat the frying pan and melt the butter in low heat. Add the cinnamon powder then add the apple slices and coat well. No need to cook it at this point, just stir for a few seconds. Line the grill pan with foil and place the apples on the grill. Place it on top rack and grill for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. To serve, place the toast on the plate and put the apple slices on top. Drizzle with honey and you got yourself a heart warming breakfast.
