This is a side dish, good with grilled meats, poultry or fish. I know a lot of times I have grilled meat and end up or steaming or stir frying with butter and garlic. This is a flavorful, less fatty option for that. And I am glad that I found this. Leftovers going to go for tomorrows school and office lunch.

Ingredients

  • Broccoli: 675 g, cut into florets and stems
  • Sesame seeds: 1 tbsp dry roasted
  • Oil: 1 tbsp
  • Light soy sauce: 1 tbsp
  • Dried chilli flakes: 1 pinch, optional, I avoided as I had small kids to feed. But if you like spicy, you must add this.
  • Vegetable stock: 60ml, you can use plain water as well
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper to taste

Method

In the heated pan add the oil and soy sauce and dried chili flakes if using, mix well. Add the broccoli and stir fry for 2 minutes. Pour in the stock and cook in simmer under cover for 2 minutes or until the broccoli is tender but crisp. Stir in the sesame seeds and season with salt and pepper. Cook for a minute. Serve hot.
